Terms of Use

Short, readable, and specific about what is not being promised as well as what is.

Who these terms are with

Docelora is operated under the name Docelora.com, from the United Kingdom. Using this website means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the tools.

These terms were last revised when this page was written. They apply to the website at docelora.com and to the processing service the tools use.

What Docelora provides

Tools that perform specific operations on documents you upload: combining, splitting, extracting, reordering, rotating, numbering, editing metadata and converting images to PDF. Each tool page states what it accepts, what it produces and what it cannot do.

The tools are free to use and require no account. That is how the service is offered today; it is not a promise that it will always be free, and if that changes the change will be stated plainly rather than applied quietly.

What you are responsible for

You are responsible for the documents you upload. By uploading a file you confirm that:

  • you have the right to use and process it;
  • doing so does not infringe anyone’s copyright, confidence or other rights;
  • it does not contain unlawful content;
  • you have kept your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Keep your originals

Docelora deletes your upload as soon as your result is produced, and clears the result shortly afterwards. Nothing is archived, and there is no way to recover a file once it has gone.

Treat every tool as working on a copy. Never upload the only copy of a document you need.

What you may not do

  • Upload content that is unlawful, or that you have no right to process.
  • Attempt to disrupt the service, exhaust its capacity, or circumvent its limits.
  • Attempt to gain access to another person’s job, result or data.
  • Attempt to probe, scan or test the security of the service without permission.
  • Use automated means to submit jobs at a scale the service is plainly not offered for.
  • Resell access to the tools, or present them as your own service.

The service enforces limits on file size, page count, job rate and concurrency. They exist so that one user cannot deprive everyone else of a working service. Attempting to work around them is a breach of these terms, not a technical challenge.

Limits on the service

These are the actual operating limits, stated so that they are not a surprise.

Applies to every tool unless its own page says otherwise
Limit
Maximum size per file25 MB
Maximum total upload per job75 MB
Maximum files per jobUp to 30, depending on the tool; several tools take one
Maximum pages per job500
How long a result is keptRoughly fifteen to twenty minutes, then cleared automatically
Jobs per visitorRate-limited; exceeding it returns a clear message and a retry time
Jobs running at onceLimited; a busy service returns a clear message rather than failing slowly

What is not promised

This section is deliberately explicit, because vague reassurance is not worth anything.

  • No guarantee of availability. The service may be unavailable, for maintenance or otherwise, without notice. No uptime figure is promised.
  • No guarantee that a particular document will process. PDFs vary widely in how they are built. A document may be refused or may fail, and each tool page lists the cases that are known to fail.
  • No guarantee of a specific result. Each tool page describes what it does and the limitations that follow. Bookmarks lost when a document is rebuilt, for example, are documented, not defects.
  • No guarantee of recovery. Once a result is cleared it cannot be retrieved.
  • No warranty. The tools are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.
  • No professional advice. Nothing on this site is legal, financial or professional advice.
Verify anything that matters

If a document is important — a contract, a submission, anything with a deadline — open the result and check it before relying on it. That is sound practice with any tool, including this one.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Docelora.com is not liable for loss of data, loss of profit, business interruption or any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of this website or its tools.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where the law does not permit it to be excluded or limited. Your rights as a consumer under the law of your country are unaffected by anything on this page.

Intellectual property

Documents you upload remain yours. Uploading one gives Docelora no rights over it beyond what is needed to perform the operation you asked for, and that use ends when the job does.

The Docelora name, the site design, its written content and its code belong to Docelora.com. The tools are built on open-source software used under its licences; those components remain the property of their authors.

Changes and ending use

These terms may be revised as the service changes. The current version is always the one on this page.

You can stop using Docelora at any time; there is no account to close. Access may be restricted where these terms are being breached, or where use is affecting the service for others.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If you use the site from somewhere else, the law where you are may give you rights that a choice of law cannot take away; nothing here is intended to remove them. Questions about these terms can be sent to info@docelora.com.
